TEXAS TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Behavioral Health Hospital on 9th Street in Texas Township is facing a license revocation from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
State officials are investigating 43 cases of patients needing to be taken to another hospital between January and May, with 24 of them happening from April to May.
Ten transfers in April were of people who were injured or assaulted, and 14 transfers in May were for falls, patients being found unresponsive or unexplained injuries.
Regulators also say patients were not checked on as often as required by state law.
