Ingham County adds new K-9 officer for Delhi Township section

HOLT, MI — Delhi Township has announced the addition of a K-9 to the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office Delhi Section.

“We are excited to bring a K-9 on board to the Delhi Section, where we work hard every day to help keep our community safe,” said Lt. Bob Boerkoel, who oversees the Delhi Section. “K-9 Whit will help us continue our goal of providing quick-response emergency services to Delhi Township.”

Whit will work alongside Deputy William Belanger to conduct searches, track possible suspects and detect possible explosives and narcotics. The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office has a contract with the Township to provide enforcement and police protection services.

According to a press release, Delhi Township will have two millage renewals on the Tuesday, Nov. 3, ballot, including the renewal of the Law Enforcement Services Millage Renewal. Delhi Township voters also will see the Fire Protection and Emergency Medical Services Millage Renewal on the Nov. 3 ballot. That renewal will support the Fire Department to continue its professional fire protection and emergency medical services in the Township.
