OKEMOS, MI — The big screens at Studio C at Meridian Mall in Okemos will go dark later this fall. The theater company has decided not to renew its lease with the mall.
The movie theater will close Oct. 4 after a final showing. It’s been in business 14 years, after being renamed from the Meridian Mall Outer 6.
“The economics of running a small scale theatre on leased property with higher fixed expenses are no longer viable, and we’ve been choosing to reinvest in the properties that we own,” the company said in a post on Facebook.
The theater was unique in that it offered dinner options for food along with traditional move theater offerings.
