LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has secured a temporary restraining order preventing Kalshi from offering online wagers on sports to Michigan residents.
She sued the company in March, alleging the derivatives exchange and prediction market company violated the state’s Lawful Sports Betting Act.
Nessel says Kalshi also conducts business in the state without the licensing approval of the Michigan Gaming Control Board in violation of the LSBA.
As a result of the restraining order, Kalshi cannot engage in or advertise its internet sports betting operations in Michigan while the lawsuit continues.
