SAULT ST. MARIE, MI — There is more than one bridge walk in Michigan. The Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge says it will be closed to vehicle traffic this Saturday in order to celebrate the annual International Bridge Walk.
The event takes place Saturday, June 27. The bridge will close to vehicle traffic at 8:45 a.m. and will reopen at approximately 10:45 a.m. The bridge measures 2.8 miles long. It crosses the St. Mary’s River to connect Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, with Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
According to a press release, the 36th annual walk will start at the Arts Center at Lake Superior State University at 9:00 a.m. sharp. Busses will be available before the Walk to transport Canadian participants to the LSSU staging area and following the walk to transport U.S. participants back to LSSU.
