LANSING, MI – It may only be spring, but Michigan is already searching for the next state Christmas tree. The Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget is looking for nominations for the Christmas tree that will be set up on the Capitol grounds this winter.
Here is what the state is looking for: The tree must be a spruce or fir, at least 60-feet tall, with easy access to the road and no cost.
The trees have come from all over the state, including mid-Michigan. The 2020 tree came from Delta Township while the 2022 tree nearby St. Johns. And the 2024 tree was harvested near Eagle.
Email ChristmasTree@Michigan.gov if you think you have a candidate. Include your name, phone number and a photo of the tree, along with information about its size and location. Nominations are due by Aug. 17.
