DEWITT, MI — Michigan’s oldest person has died at the age of 114 years, four months, and 15 days. Irene Dunham died in her DeWitt assisted living home Sunday afternoon in her sleep, according to family members.
Her son, Bruce Dunham, said his mom was able to meet her first great-great-great-grandchild prior to her death.
The elder Dunahm was a senior in 1927 when former Bath Township school board treasurer Andrew Kehoe bombed the school and killed 38 kids, but she was home sick that day. However, her brother was injured in the bombing attack.
