CHARLOTTE, MI — The Barry-Eaton District Health Department says mosquitoes in Barry County have tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis. The disease can be fatal for humans and horses.
Samples were collected June 30 and tested positive at a state lab. State officials say Barry County is the third county in Michigan to have mosquito-borne diseases this year.
