EAST LANSING, MI — The man who steered the nation through the deadly COVID-19 pandemic is scheduled to headline a list of nationally known leaders speaking during Michigan State University’s spring graduation ceremonies in May.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former chief medical adviser to the president and past director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases will address graduates during the spring commencement.
Fauci, who will receive an honorary doctorate in humanities, will speak along with Jill Hruby, undersecretary for nuclear security for the U.S. Department of Energy and administrator of the National Nuclear Security Administration, and Lisa Cook, who is an MSU faculty member, according to a press release from MSU.
All of the main graduation ceremonies will be held May 5 at the Breslin Center in East Lansing. Other ceremonies will be held in the Wharton Center. The ceremonies will also be live-streamed through MSU’s commencement website commencement.msu.edu.
