LANSING, MI — The Capital Region International Airport (LAN) has announced that Delta Air Lines (Delta) has upgraded its regional aircraft operating at LAN to the larger and more efficient CRJ-900. The move will provide passengers flying from the Lansing airport with a more comfortable flying experience, according to a press release.
The CRJ-900 can accommodate up to 76 passengers, which is a significant increase from the plane that was flying to and from the local airport. The CRJ-200’s capacity was only 50 passengers.
“We are excited that Delta continues to be a great partner with the Lansing airport, and this investment displays Delta’s commitment to providing passengers with the improved services,” said Nicole Noll-Williams, president and CEO of the Capital Region Airport Authority (CRAA). “The upgraded aircraft will provide additional seats in the market, allowing for more passengers to fly Lansing and utilize the service provided by Delta.”
The new aircraft will operate on Delta’s existing routes from LAN to Detroit Metro Airport (DTW), providing additional capacity to Delta’s third-largest hub.
