LANSING, MI — Criminal charges against former Michigan Governor Rick Snyder in the Flint water crisis have been dismissed by a judge. Snyder was charged with two misdemeanors of willful neglect of duty and has become the eighth person to have charges dropped after a unanimous opinion by the Michigan Supreme Court in June that a one-person grand jury’s indictments were not valid.
Snyder left office in 2019 and the six-year statute of limitations may prevent any new charges being filed, according to observers.
