LANSING, MI — A late April cold low pressure system means there a chance for light snow tonight in southern Lower Peninsula. Forecasts call for only wet flurries in the Lansing area through Wednesday morning. Further south Jackson could get an inch or two of fresh snow
Forecasters predict heavier snow will fall in the Detroit area. The latest southeast Michigan has gotten 3 or more inches of snow was May 9, 1923, according to National Weather Service record keeping.
It will be cold though across mid-Michigan. Sub-freezing temperatures in the mid 20s expected both Tuesday and Wednesday nights. A freeze warning is likely to be in effect.
