DETROIT (WKZO) -- U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes scolded Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan in court Wednesday.

Rhodes was reportedly upset with comments Duggan made last week, declaring he would fire the Jones Day law firm in late September when emergency manager Kevyn Orr's tenure ends. The judge says that firing the city's bankruptcy law firm at such a critical phase in the city's restructuring would be inefficient and unrealistic.

Duggan says there was a miscommunication and that he does not plan on getting rid of Jones Day, however if the bankruptcy proceedings extend beyond September 25th, the day the City Council can vote out Orr, he will not support keeping the firm.
