MT. PLEASANT, MI (WHTC) - For the second time in a week a Michigan college student has been found dead in a bedroom, and for the second time in this school year, it happened to a Central Michigan University student at an off-campus apartment in Mount Pleasant.
School officials didn’t immediately identify the latest victim’s name after yesterday’s discovery of the man’s body, but investigators with the Isabella County Sheriff’s Department don’t think at this point that this was a case of foul play.
In September, 22-year-old Kelly Markatos of Holland died in her off-campus CMU apartment; tests later showed that she had suffered symptoms of bulimia. Last week, 19-year-old Alyssa Olafson of Allendale suffered an apparent cardiac arrest and died at her Western Michigan University dorm room; her funeral is this morning, with a memorial service on the Kalamazoo campus tomorrow.
