Website releases taxes paid by Senate candidate Terri Lynn Land

WASHINGTON D.C. (WTVB) -The Huffington Post is reporting that U.S.Senate Candidate Terri Lynn Land, who at $33 million in net worth is the wealthiest Senate candidate in this election cycle, paid only $1,200 in income taxes in 2012, and about $2,000 last year. Land, who is running against Congressman Gary Peters for the current seat of Senator Carl Levin, reported her actual income at just under $45,000 thousand dollars in 2012, and about $90,000 last year, filing separately from her husband, who works for the family business. She gave enough of the income she claimed away in charitable donations to have a net tax rate of less than 3% both years.

The website reports she has donated $2.9 million to her own Senate campaign this year.
