Excellent news for 311 fans champing at the bit for new music: the first single from the band's new album has dropped. It's called "Five of Everything" and it's the first musical taste from Stereolithic , 311's eleventh studio album -- and their first release in almost three years.
The album will drop on March 11th, which has the calendar date of 3/11, and the release will be celebrated with the band's annual 311 Day concert, which will take place at the New Orleans Arena.
Fans wanting a little something extra can visit 311's page on PledgeMusic.com , a website on which people can pledge money for creative projects, where 311 has offered signed or unsigned CDs, vinyl copies of Stereolithic, and lithographs. Any purchase enters the buyer into a drawing to win a variety of prizes including a drum head autographed by the band, a pair of backstage passes to meet the guys at an upcoming show sometime this year or handwritten lyrics of the song of the winner's choice from 311 members Nick Hexum and Doug "SA" Martinez . The grand prize is an autographed Tim Mahoney signature series Paul Reed Smith SE guitar.
"Five of Everything" is available at digital music outlets.
