ALLEGAN (WHTC) -  The winds have died down after a difficult travel day on Friday in which high winds and blowing snow led to white-out conditions in some areas along the Lakeshore, particularly to the south in Allegan County. An Allegan County sheriff’s deputy suffered minor injuries when her patrol car was struck at 147th Avenue and 40th Street, just south of Drenthe. Fennville’s police chief was also injured when his car was struck as part of a series of accidents at 58th Street and 136th Avenue. A 3-mile stretch of M-40 between Holland and Hamilton was shut down for several hours yesterday afternoon because of multiple crashes.
