LANSING (WKZO) -- An effort to force a decision on whether to raise Michigan's minimum wage to $10.10 an hour will start this Saturday.  The Board of State Canvassers Wednesday approved petition wording submitted by the Raise Michigan group, which is calling for a $2.50 an hour increase in the rate starting in 2017.

Erik Shelley with Michigan United said it will be a busy spring gathering the needed 258-thousand signatures from registered voters.  If the drive is successful and the Legislature fails to approve the wage, then the measure would be placed on the November ballot for voters.
