UNDATED (WHTC) -- The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign over the Fourth of July holiday resulted in 236 drunk driving arrests and 381 seat belt and child restraint citations. Preliminary reports show that close to 160 police departments, sheriff’s offices and Michigan State Police posts stopped 7,884 vehicles during the two week period between July 1st and the 13th. The MSP released the results in the annual Drunk Driving Audit on Thursday. Officers also made 88 drug arrests, 18 felony arrests, 145 other misdemeanor arrests and apprehended 179 fugitives. The next campaign will take place during the Labor Day holiday.
