WASHINGTON, DC (WKZO) -- Michiganders who sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act's health insurance exchanges will pay rates lower than the national average.

That information comes from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, which released the prices of the lowest-cost plans.  Before tax credits are applied, a single 27-year-old person would pay 146-dollars a month for the lowest-priced bronze plan, 178 a month for silver and 218 a month for gold.

There will be 43 health plans to choose from when the exchanges begin in October.
