Michigan State University to use drones for crop management

EAST LANSING (WKZO) -- Michigan State University has the approval of the FAA to use drones for crop research.  The "Lansing State Journal" reports the aircraft can fly as long as 70 minutes at 33 miles an hour and take high enough resolution photos for agronomists to see single plants.  MSU geological sciences professor Bruno Basso says the drones will help farmers find problem areas in their fields and come up with responses that don't affect the rest of the crop.
