Some members of public confusing state lawmakers with Congress members

LANSING (WKZO) -- The federal government shutdown is proving there are some people in Michigan who don't know the difference between Congress and the state Legislature.

MIRS News reports a slew of state lawmakers are getting angry phone calls demanding they get back to work and start negotiating with President Obama to end the shutdown.  House Speaker Jase Bolger's spokesman Ari Adler tells MIRS they're explaining the difference to the confused electorate and reminding the callers that Michigan's budget was done well ahead of the deadline.

On the Facebook page for state House Republicans, there is a photo of Representatives Tom Leonard of DeWitt and Andrea Lafontaine of Columbus Township in front of the Capitol with a sign reading "We're open."
