UNDATED (WTVB) - You could probably sense that gas prices this low were just too good to be true. A few stations in southwest Michigan were actually flirting with going under the $3.00 mark for the first time in years. All it took was a bump in the wholesale price to increase pump prices by 20-to-30-cents a gallon yesterday afternoon at gas stations all over the area.
Patrick DeHaan at Gas Buddy.com says its not the start of a trend, and he expects the prices will go back down again before the Holidays. In the meantime, we will have to put up with this vicious cycle that Great Lakes motorists are doomed to see repeated over and over because there are just too few major retailers selling gas in the region.
