Former Michigan Assistant Attorney General files lawsuit

DETROIT (WKZO) -- A lawsuit has been filed by a former assistant attorney general who was terminated for misconduct in November of 2010.

Andrew Shirvell was accused of harassing and stalking former University of Michigan student body president Chris Armstrong.  Former Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox fired Shirvell in the wake of the allegations, while Armstrong was awarded 4.5-million dollars by a federal court.

Shirvell is now suing current Attorney General Bill Schuette, Cox and others in the AG's office for wrongful termination.  He is seeking a monetary judgement to be determined by the court.
