If you're a fan of The Killers , you should tune in to MTV's European Music Awards ceremony this weekend, because it may be the last time you see the guys perform on stage together for a while. Drummer Ronnie Vannucci says the band plans on taking a break after their EMA appearance so they can focus on other projects.
"I think everybody is looking forward to putting their feet up for a little while and having some normalcy," he tells The Hollywood Reporter . “I don't think it will take an unnaturally long time for us to get guys together. [But] it's time to take a breather and ground out a little bit."
While frontman Brandon Flowers has previously expressed his desire to record a second solo album, Vannucci notes he’s already got the ball rolling on a follow-up to 2011's Big Talk . "I'm already starting it,” he explains. “So far, it is sounding like somewhere between ZZ Top and Tron . I think it will be ready when it's ready -- probably next year."
The Killers will take the stage at MTV's European Music Awards ceremony on Sunday at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. The upcoming appearance marks the band’s fourth time playing for the EMAs, following their performances for the awards show in 2006, 2008 and 2012. You can watch the show live at 6:30 p.m. ET on MTV.
