The Detroit Tigers have their next manager in place. The Tigers have hired former major league catcher Brad Ausmus to replace Jim Leyland, who stepped down after the postseason. Ausmus played 18 years in the majors, including three with Detroit. The 44-year-old was a .251 lifetime hitter with 80 home runs and 607 RBI in nearly two thousand games. Leyland led the Tigers to two World Series in eight years with the team.
