The Michigan State House has passed legislation that would give judges the authority to order those accused of violent crimes to wear a tracking bracelet as a condition of their bail.

State Representative Joel Johnson says it at least ensures that a potentially violent person will be tracked while he waits for his case to be resolved. Johnson says that judges already can make such orders, but this law clarifies and codifies that.
