WARREN (WKZO) -- A man charged in connection with the October 2012 death of his obese wife is scheduled for sentencing Wednesday.

Thirty-seven-year-old Michael Brooks pleaded guilty to spousal abuse after being charged with neglecting his 500-pound wife.  Forty-year-old Yolanda Reese-Brooks was found inside the family's apartment covered in bugs and human waste and was suffering from bed sores.

Hazmat crews had to knock down a wall to remove the woman from the apartment. She was hospitalized, but died two weeks later.
