DETROIT, MI (WTVB) - An effort to end Michigan's ban on same-sex marriage will have to wait after a federal judge delayed his ruling until June. Judge Bernard Friedman is waiting on the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court on the legality of same-sex marriage based on a California case. A couple of from Hazel Park began their effort to change Michigan's law on the adoption of children by gay couples. However, they later decided to try to reverse the 2004 constitutional amendment in Michigan that declares marriage is between one man and one woman.
