DETROIT (WKZO) -- Protests are planned in Detroit over Michigan Governor Rick Snyder's decision to appoint an emergency financial manager to the city.
The Detroit Branch NAACP, Rainbow Push Coalition, and National Action Network outlined their strategy yesterday, including a request for the U.S. Attorney General to investigate the legality of the manager law. Critics, like the United Auto Workers, describe the decision as the governor dictating from Lansing.
Detroit city officials meanwhile, are still considering whether to formally appeal the emergency declaration.
