LANSING (WKZO) -- The Michigan Senate today approved two bills that will allow Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan to operate as a nonprofit mutual insurer.
The bills are now headed to Governor Rick Snyder's desk, where they are expected to be approved. According to spokeswoman Sara Wurfel the governor still has a final review to do, but he "does definitely intend to sign," adding the reforms are a "top priority."
Snyder vetoed similar legislation late last year after the House added language that restricted abortion coverage.
