2013 is half over, and it's already been a year of big albums and smash singles. But who've been the overall champs of music so far this year? Billboard wants to know, and is asking fans to vote in its annual Mid-Year Music Awards survey.
In the category of "Favorite #1 Album," Billboard has nominated the following records: Queens of the Stone Age ’s ...Like Clockwork , Vampire Weekend ’s Modern Vampires of the City , Daft Punk 's Random Access Memories , Mumford & Sons ' Babel , Fall Out Boy 's Save Rock and Roll , and Paramore ’s self-titled album. In addition, the albums from Daft Punk, Fall Out Boy and Paramore have scored nominations for Best Comeback.
Nominees for 2013's Coolest Marketing Stunt so far include Daft Punk's teaser video at Coachella, and Fall Out Boy unveiling their comeback, album release, single and video in one day.
In the category of Most Disappointing of 2013, you can choose from, among other things, Daft Punk not performing at Coachella, and Mumford & Sons pulling out of Bonnaroo so bassist Ted Dwane could recover from surgery he underwent to a remove a blood clot from his brain.
Other categories on which you can vote include Best Tour, Best Televised Performance, Best Style, Best Festival Performance, Best Music Reality Show and Most Overrated Artist.
