VIDEO: The Moon comes to Kalamazoo Valley Museum


KALAMAZOO (WKZO) – Taking part in the June Jubilee festivities this weekend is the Kalamazoo Valley Museum with their “Big Summer Reveal”. The celebration, running June 7 to 9, will feature live music and shows to accompany the reveal of their newest exhibit.

Starting Friday, June 7 at 6 p.m. the exhibit will be unveiled showing off a large 3D model of the Moon enhanced with fiber optic lights. Free planetarium shows will be offered to tell the story of the moon as well as live music and performers.

Friday, June 7

6 pm: Live music with the Marci Linn Band and Who Dat? blues band

8 pm : “The Dark Side of the Moon” laser light show in the planetarium

Saturday, June 8

12:30 pm : Unveiling of “The Moon Revealed” exhibit - free Moon Pies
1 pm:  The Challenger Learning Center Experience. Missions begin every half hour
1 pm: “Cosmic Zoo” family planetarium show
2 pm: “The Artists' Sky” stargazing planetarium show
3 pm: "Violent Universe” feature planetarium show
4 pm: The Mittenauts perform live music in the Stryker Theater
