LANSING The operators of a non-profit toy manufacturing operation in Lansing are asking the public for help, as they assess the damage from an early morning fire early Tuesday at their shop on On Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
The R. J. Sheffel Memorial Toy Project suffered roof damage and many of the toys were smoke damaged or broken, but many others are probably salvageable.
Larry Koster says he’s not sure what they will need to do to make them acceptable for children again.
They distribute their toys to local agencies that lend assistance to children.
Anyone who would like to donate can send it to the R.J. Scheffel Memorial Toy Project, P.O. Box 23181, Lansing, MI 48909
