Ever since Scott Weiland was dismissed from Velvet Revolver in 2008, fans have been waiting for the supergroup to replace the singer and make some new music.  Bassist Duff McKagan says that while each member of the band is working on his own projects, they are always on the lookout for a new frontman for Velvet Revolver.

"We've tried out a bunch of singers, but I think we're just waiting for the right person to come along," the ex- Guns N' Roses bassist tells Billboard .  "It'll just happen.  The chemistry of [drummer] Matt [ Sorum ] and [guitarist] Slash and [guitarist] Dave [ Kushner ] and I is really good, so you don't want to let that just go away."

McKagan adds that while he was sorry to hear about Weiland's recent departure from Stone Temple Pilots , he says he had a feeling that trouble was brewing within that band's ranks.

"You could kind of see it coming, I suppose," he explains.  "It's a sad situation any way you look at it.  You hope [Weiland] pulls it together; I shared enough good times with that guy that I wish him nothing but the best."
