WASHINGTON, DC (WKZO) -- Senator Debbie Stabenow is still working on getting a five-year Farm Bill passed by Congress and signed by President Obama.  She says the Senate is ready for the bills to go to conference committee, but says time is short with just about 24 session days before the current legislation expires.

The Senate has passed a full Farm Bill, but the House only passed what Senator Stabenow and other critics called a partial bill last week.  The House legislation removed food stamp programs, which have been included in the Farm Bill for decades.
