LANSING (WKZO) -- The targeted road patrols for holiday drunk drivers ended Sunday evening, but State Police say the danger continues.
The Office of Highway Safety Planning keeps meticulous records of the state’s accidents and analyzes the causes and they have found that folks don’t confine their drinking to the 4th of July.
In fact they say July and August are worst months for drunk driving.
Spokesperson Lynn Sutfin says there are a couple of reasons. Folks are doing a lot more driving to vacation and recreational events and they often include alcohol.
She says they will be focusing on seat belt enforcement during the Labor Day weekend.
