Bad news for Motörhead fans: the band has just canceled the rest of their summer tour dates so frontman Lemmy Kilmister can recuperate from his recent health problems.

“As you may have heard, earlier this spring Lemmy had some medical maintenance for the long-term good," explains a post on the band’s Facebook page . "He was, at that time, advised to rest, but once feeling better, he of course resumed his life as usual. He has since been advised that he should immediately take some more time to rest.”

While there’s been no official confirmation from the band on Kilmister’s condition, there have been rumors that he's suffering from a hematoma, which is an abnormal collection of blood localized around blood vessels, much like an internal bruise.  News of Kilmister’s alleged ailment came in the form of an announcement from Barley Arts Promotion, shortly after the band canceled their June 25 concert in Milan, Italy due to what the promoter said was “a severe hematoma which makes it impossible at the moment [for Kilmister to perform] on stage.”

Kilmister notes that he expects to be fully recovered and back out on the road in the fall. “It was a tough decision for me as I don't like to disappoint the fans especially in times where economy is bad and people spent their money to see us,” says the singer in statement. “But sometimes you can't do anything else than following doctor's orders, but be sure we will be back and kick everybody's ass.”
