UNDATED (WKZO) -- Remember the old saying ‘if you don’t like the weather in Michigan, wait 5-minutes’. It appears we all may be about to live that first hand.
National Weather Service Meteorlogist Janis Laurens says it’s an exciting time to be in his shoes. He says we could be near the record for high temperatures today, but he says enjoy the warm weather while its here because it won’t last.
By Thursday he says we will be back with highs in the teens getting buried under lake effect snow.
He says it may be extreme but it won’t be severe. Most of the severe weather connected to this weather system is happening far to the south.
The roads will be clear this morning, if you can see them because the combination of warm southerly air blowing over all this snow on the ground is likely to be scattered patches of dense fog. Most of the lower Peninsula is under a dense fog advisory until 11 this morning. Not exactly beach weather, unless you are a duck or a walrus.
