While it may have taken seven years for The Darkness to release their latest album, Hot Cakes , guitarist Dan Hawkins promises that fans won’t have to wait nearly as long to get their hands on the band’s next record.
"It'll be out in 2014,” Hawkins tells Billboard . "I think it's important the next album comes out quickly. [ Hot Cakes ] has been a great introduction to let people know we're back. Now we need to keep the output up.”
Hawkins adds that he has some ideas about what the forthcoming album should sound like. “I think we want to get even more old school,” he notes. “We want to make it even more of a performance record. We just want to be really brave and try to do something as live as humanly possible, warts and all.”
