LANSING (WKZO) -- Governor Snyder has declared a state of emergency in Michigan but its nothing you have to be concerned about. A pipeline problem at a terminal in Rapid River, Michigan and the excessively cold temperatures have left the upper Peninsula and parts of Wisconsin with an acute shortage of propane.
Declaring the emergency allows truckers to exceed the limit on the number of hours they are normally allowed to be on the road.
The vast distances between terminals and the limits on hours just makes it impossible to replenish the supply.
The state of emergency is set to last until February 3rd or until its recinded, which ever comes first.
