LANSING (WKZO) -- For just the second time since they opened, Detroit's three casinos have collectively lost money year-over-year.
In 2012, the state says only MGM Grand had a revenue gain, posting an increase of one-percent compared to 2011. State gambling officials say the opening of a new casino in May just to the south in Toledo affected the revenues of the MGM, Greektown and MotorCity casinos.
Overall, the gambling establishments posted a loss of revenue of a 0.5-percent.
