PLAINWELL (WKZO) --Another west Michigan soldier has died as a result of the fighting in Afghanistan.
Army Sgt. Mark Schoonhoven of Plainwell was wounded during an insurgent attack in Kabul in Mid-December.
His family believed he was on the road to recovery. He was receiving treatment at a military hospital in Texas when he died on Sunday.
He was wounded on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan. Funeral services are pending. Sgt. Schoonhoven was 38.
