WASHINGTON (WKZO) -- Democratic Congressman John Dingell hasn't said yet which way he's leaning on President Obama's gun control proposals.

Dingell has been in office since Dwight Eisenhower was President in 1955 and is a former board member of the National Rifle Association.  He tells the "Detroit Free Press" he's considering President Obama's recommendations from outlawing high-capacity ammunition magazines to banning assault weapons, but hasn't made up his mind.

Dingell does not believe the 1994 assault weapons ban worked, and adds his decision will be based on the gun rights protected by the U.S. Constitution.
