LANSING (WKZO) -- Just when you thought you were done with political ads on TV...a new advertising campaign produced by the Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association is about to hit the airwaves to build support for higher taxes to pay for road work. Something that isn’t all that popular right now, especially with lawmakers.

They plan to spend 600-thousand dollars on the ad campaign this winter. A coalition of groups from agriculture, business and labor have collaborated on an internet website called "Just Fix The Roads-Dot Com".

Governor Rick Snyder made road improvements a focus of his State of the State address last week calling for an increase in the gas tax and higher vehicle registration costs to pay for upgrades and maintenance of the state's roads.
