The 48-year-old Detroit man who allegedly stole his father's corpse from a cemetery last week has been arrested, and is being held in jail on a 75-thousand dollar cash bond.
Vincent Bright reportedly took the body and casket of 93-year-old Clarence Bright because he believed he could resurrect his father through prayer.
They found the casket in the back of his white van and the body in the basement freezer at his home. Prosecutors argued for a high bond based on the circumstances in the case and the judge agreed.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday and a competency examination will likely be ordered by the court.
