DETROIT (WKZO) -- Despite slow sales of the Chevrolet Volt, General Motors North America President Mark Reuss says the automaker is not giving up on electric vehicles.
GM missed its sales goals for the Volt in 2011 and 2012 and did have to shut down the Hamtramck plant where the vehicle is produced last year because of slow sales. The automaker launched another electric vehicle at this year's North American International Auto show.
The Cadillac ELR will go on sale later this year and Reuss said the next generation of the Volt have a number of improvements.
