DETROIT (WKZO) -- A new study finds that charter students in Michigan are showing more growth than public school students.
The study from the Center for Research on Education Outcomes, at Stanford University, examined the amount of improvement students in charter schools are showing on state exams. The report shows charter school students gain on average an additional two-months of learning in reading and math over students in traditional public schools.
While charter students are showing more growth, the report showed that a majority of charters in the state are low-achieving.
