LANSING (WKZO) -- By the end of Saturday an error impacting 85-thousand food assistance recipients and their families should be corrected. Kurt Weiss, the director of The Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget says it was a human error that failed to replenish the benefits of Bridge Cards clients with account numbers ending a zero,’’ and its taking longer than they thought to fix it.
He says he realizes how difficult it can be for some families that rely on the assistance being there at a certain time.
He says staff have been working around the clock to correct the problem. He also says the time its taking to correct the “zero” card holders could begin impacting some card holders with numbers that end in 1 today.
