LANSING (WKZO) -- Governor Rick Snyder has appointed Judge David Viviano of Sterling Heights to the Michigan Supreme Court.
The 41-year-old justice already has plenty of judicial experience as he is currently chief judge of the 16th Circuit and Macomb County Probate courts. He was chosen by the Michigan Supreme Court in 2008 to take part in a pilot project to reform the jury system. He also advocates technological innovations in the court system, having led the 16th Circuit Court's e-filing pilot project.
Viviano's appointment fills a vacancy created by the resignation for former Justice Diane Hathaway.
